The once-in-a-lifetime experience

It all started when...

...I decided to get behind the mic.

It didn't take much prodding. It did take a lot of learning, coaching and late nights. And apologies. Lots of sincere apologies. To cohosts, friends and listeners alike. For sending show notes the night before the broadcast. For failing to update the website when I said I would. For many other things.

This time it's going to be different.

Since my time as a student at Montgomery County Community College is now over, I look forward to sharing me to the Montco family and the world. So I pulling out all my musical stops.

That's right. I don't just talk. I rock out. Sometimes to the weirdest, most unexpected artists you will ever hear.

...Just not on my website. Sorry. I can't afford the lawsuits. I do name the artists but I can't play their music.

This Experience begins on the day of Commencement, May 18, 2017. Actually, the night before when I sent a frantic Facebook post that said, "Hey Montco Radio Rockstars! Since no one else is going to be on the air tomorrow, I'm taking over. Doing a #mc3grad impromptu broadcast. Who's with me?"

Okay. Those weren't the EXACT words but you get the idea.

This college selflessly welcomed an observant Orthodox Jew into their fold with nothing but love, support and positivity. The Three Ingredients my life was missing. Eventually, as Editor-in-Chief of the college's newspaper, The Montgazette, I made strides that people are still talking about. Three years after I became editor.

Then in 2015, I started to be a radio DJ, encouraging others along the way to get behind the mic. It doesn't take a lot of talent but it does take a lot of hard work.

So hear it is, my longest broadcast ever. A three and a half hour march of music, memories, some angry words from a dear friend and tears. Lots of tears. Tears of happiness. Tears of longing.

So...

Before I head off to West Chester University to do more awesome things there, I extend my gratitude.

Thank you Montgomery County Community College and all the wonderful, inspiring people who walk its halls everyday. My gratitude for how you educated me and changed me for the good will never fade.

Ladies and Gentlemen, in chunks, the impromptu #mc3grad broadcast:

Several weeks later, I kept my promise to Montco Radio and the college community. I returned to the station that gave me a voice and helped me encourage other to do the same.

Except.

There was a scheduling snafu. So what follows is an abbreviated kickoff show. My thanks to Marc Francois and the crew of the show The Gooniez for allowing me to barge in and broadcast. You guys play the freshest local hits. Don't stop.

Sara Wilkerson, a young woman who started off as my successor as Editor-in-Chief of The Montgazette, rapidly became my best friend. So what does a friend whose twice the age of the other (I'll let you think who's who) do for that best friend?

That's right, a tribute broadcast! A show dedicated entirely to her favorite songs.

Except.

She was in class, learning and kicking a--- as a Bucknell Community College Scholar. She's going to be there half the summer and I couldn't prouder unless she was a flesh and blood sister. Truth is, I made her apart of the family anyway. I had to. It's hard to explain but I felt a connection to her that inspired this tribute.

For this, I take the risk to broadcast her songs, confident I never see a cease and desist letter.

Each show follows a theme or a friend's playlist. In this case, the playlist of my good friend Bob Hartnett, Veteran and host of Afternoon Sports Delight, airing on MontcoRadio.com, Fridays 5-7pm.

Living with prayers, smiling through tough times and rockin' out!

Fourth of July. Freedom. Independence. And Rock and Roll. Enough said.

Sha Na Na tribute. Then rock and roll that isn't copying someone else's work.

Music doesn't always need instruments. Homage to A Cappella Rock and Roll.

A bittersweet show. Welcome home and congratulations to Montgomery County Community College's Bucknell University Community College Scholars! Shoutouts to my friend Sara Wilkerson and her friends and associates Mouaz Alhindi, Adrian Grow, Arjina Islam, Lily Romano and Jessica Morris. Days before they came home, the great legend and lead singer of Linkin Park Chester Bennington died the previous Thursday. This show is dedicated to them all.

Rock and Roll always has a softer side....
